Installing the DCOM Connector in the MTS

For the installation, two steps are necessary:

Installing the DCOM Connector

Prerequisites

Procedure

To install the SAP R/3 DCOM Connector Components in MTS on your target machine, proceed as follows:

  1. Make sure that no (older) version of the DCOM Connector is installed on the target machine. If there is one, deinstall it.
  2. Install the RFC SDK on your target machine. Start program SAPSetup and follow the instructions given there. See also Installing RFC SDK.
The corresponding files are copied to the directory RFCSDK of the target machine.
  3. Select file default.htm from directory rfcsdk\ccwww\
The initial page of the R/3 DCOM Connector Wizard appears.
  4. Choose Installation.
  5. Go to section Installation of RFC SDK and choose the link install the packages.
The dialog box SAP R/3 DCOM Connector Setup appears.
  6. Select the components which have to be installed on the MTS.
The installation of the Object Builder package und Samples package are optional. The separation of the core components and the optional components allows to specify two different environments, e.g. production environment and development environment.
  7. Choose the pushbutton Setup.

See also Troubleshooting for the Build Process.
